Child Sponsorship Coordinator and/or Communications Coordinator

U.S. Remote (Work From Home) | Paid Positions

Village of Hope Uganda is prayerfully seeking the right people to join our U.S.-based team.

We are currently looking to fill two part-time positions:

Child Sponsorship Coordinator

  • Approximately 20-25 hours per week

Communications Coordinator

  • Approximately 15-20 hours per week

For the right candidate with experience and gifts in both areas, we would also consider combining these responsibilities into one full-time position.

At Village of Hope, we believe every child deserves to know they are loved, valued, and created with purpose. Compelled by God's love, we provide safe homes, education, trauma counseling, and spiritual guidance for children orphaned through the effects of war and poverty in Northern Uganda.

Child Sponsorship Coordinator

This position helps build and nurture meaningful relationships between our children, sponsors, volunteers, and partners. The coordinator serves as a vital link between our U.S. supporters and the children they encourage and support.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate correspondence between children and sponsors, ensuring letters, photos, and updates are exchanged in a timely manner

  • Maintain accurate sponsorship records and databases

  • Foster strong working relationships with Village of Hope staff in Uganda to ensure accurate information and timely communication.

  • Keep sponsors informed about their child's progress and important milestones

  • Prepare sponsorship reports and support sponsor care efforts

  • Recruit, equip, and coordinate volunteer letter writers who help children stay connected with caring adults through regular correspondence

  • Assist sponsors, pen pals, and volunteers with questions and support needs

  • Help create a positive sponsorship experience that strengthens connections between supporters and children

  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and care

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously

  • Comfort working with databases and record-keeping systems

  • Compassion for children who have experienced trauma, loss, and hardship

  • Ability to navigate cultural differences with grace, flexibility, and understanding while maintaining accountability and follow-through

  • Experience working with people from different cultures or international teams is a plus

  • Experience in ministry, nonprofit work, volunteer coordination, customer service, or relationship management is helpful

Location Requirement:

Because this position occasionally assists with sponsorship-related mailings, materials, and ministry activities involving our North Dallas partners, applicants for the Child Sponsorship Coordinator position should reside in the North Dallas area.

Communications Coordinator

This position helps tell the story of what God is doing through Village of Hope and keeps our supporters connected to the mission. Residing in the North Dallas area is helpful.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create engaging social media content, graphics, and stories that connect supporters to the children and mission of Village of Hope.

  • Use photos, videos, and written stories to communicate the impact of God's work through Village of Hope.

  • Maintain and update the Village of Hope website, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging.

  • Add stories, photos, ministry updates, and other content to the website as needed.

  • Writing newsletters, emails, donor letters, and ministry updates

  • Preparing prayer updates and communications for prayer partners

  • Researching topics and resources as needed

  • Assisting with donor communications and special projects

  • Supporting the Executive Director and helping wherever needed

Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Ability to take everyday moments and turn them into stories that help others understand the impact of the ministry

  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva preferred)

  • Experience creating content for Facebook, Instagram, email, and websites

  • Ability to select and organize photos that effectively communicate impact

  • Strong attention to detail and brand consistency

  • Comfort learning new technology and online platforms

  • Ability to communicate with warmth, authenticity, and compassion

Location Preference:

This position may be performed remotely from anywhere within the United States. While not required, proximity to the North Dallas area is a plus for occasional meetings and ministry events.
