“i was abducted from my village when i was fetching firewood from the forest.”
Filda was given to a rebel soldier as his “wife”. After several years, she managed to escape while they were waiting to cross a river. The government troops came before they crossed and rescued her with her 3 children - all born in captivity.
She joined the Tabitha Artisans in 2008 and learned to make baskets, paper beads, table mats and tie-dye. She likes making baskets most.
“I had lost my hope, but God used this program to build my lost hope back and make me a God-fearing person. I use the skills I’ve learned to make a living.
“I was abducted from an iDP camp when the LRA came to take food from the camp.”
Before she was abducted, Anna had 3 children. During her captivity she was given to a man and bore 3 more children. She managed to escape when the government forces attached the rebels and she was rescued.
She joined the Tabitha Artisans in 2009 and learned tailoring, weaving baskets, making paper beads, table mats and tie-dye. She likes baskets most.
God has used this program to change her life by giving her skills to earn a living. She is able to meet basic necessities for her family and pay school fees for her children. She has also come to know God and received Jesus as her personal Savior.

Margret was married at the time she was abducted but didn’t have any children. In captivity, she was given to a man and bore two children in the bush. She escaped when they were sent to collect water. Thankfully, a new abductee was carrying her baby and they all managed to escape.
She joined Tabitha Artisans in 2008 and learned to weave baskets, knit, make table mats, paper beads, and tie-dye. She like weaving baskets and making tie-dye most.
God has used the program to change he life by building back her lost hope. She now knows God as her Savior and has learned skill to earn a living.
