Ceasor’s story

Ceasor’s family was destroyed and devastated by the war between the Lord’s Resistance Army and the Acholi people in the northern part of Uganda. Instead of having a fun-filled childhood it was filled with fear, poverty and hopelessness. This is the case for many of our orphans at VOH. His parents died leaving him an orphan. He went to live with his aunt who was caring for ten other orphans living in a tiny mud hut with a leaking thatched roof. It left little opportunity for him to grow and flourish into a healthy, Godly young man. Ceasor fervently prayed that God would change his circumstances.

In 2010 God answered a little boy’s prayers when Ceasor moved to VOH. He said, “It was a dream come true. From that day, I felt the true presence of God. I immediately knew that I was going to study and have a bright future because at VOH, the sky is the limit.”

Ceasor didn’t just survive but he thrived, soaking up the education he received from our Ugandan teachers, the love from our house moms and aunties in his new and safe home and he was able to learn and trust in the God who answered his prayers. He also met his sponsor mom, Robin, who supported him through university where he received a degree in IT. She not only provided for his education but loved him as her own son.

We are so proud to say he is now working for VOH at our high school campus overseeing our IT department and teaching other orphans just like himself on computers. When I shared with Robin that her son was now working for us she wept with joy.

Ceasor shared his thanks with Robin, “Your contribution toward supporting me has been instrumental in shaping me into the person I am today. Because of your belief in me, I have been able to envision a brighter future. Your support has directly contributed to my dream becoming a reality, and I cannot thank you enough for helping me achieve this significant milestone.”
