Sending gifts to your sponsored child
Because all the children at Village of Hope Uganda live together, for a child to receive special gift with their letter that no other child receives can trigger past traumas. You are always welcome to include photos and one or two sheets of stickers in your letter, but if you include other gifts (even though they are small) we will not be able to send them or return them to you.
However, there is another other way you can bless your sponsored child in a very special way:
Provide a new school uniform for your child. When a new child arrives at Village of Hope, we provide them with a school uniform - a shirt, skirt or pants, a sweater and a pair of shoes. You can imagine how worn that uniform gets by the end of the year and of course, they grow so fast, the uniform no longer fits when the return to the Village for the next school year. We don’t have the funds to provide a new one for every child each year. Your gift of $60/child (the school year runs from February through December) will provide a new school uniform for your sponsored child in elementary or high school. If you’d like, you can set up a donation to reoccur annually to ensure your child has a new school uniform each year without having to remember. If you would also like to donate an additional uniform for an unsponsored child or for a child whose sponsor is not able to provide, we will be thankful for it.
