Higher Education

After completing our comprehensive Secondary School, college-bound youth attend a two-year Advanced Secondary boarding school in the Gulu, Uganda area. VOH youth consistently perform among the highest in the region on their Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams.

Similar to Associates Degrees, some youth go directly from Secondary School to diploma programs such as primary school teaching, nursing and midwifery, records and information, social work, development, and other programs. These programs typically take two to three years to complete.

Some especially gifted vocational school students progress to Technical College where they can earn diplomas in engineering which will lead to higher paying jobs. Through these jobs, some youth may choose to save and attend university for an engineering degree in the future

Youth who have done well on their UACE exams and in the course work have the opportunity to pursue university degrees. These programs, in the Gulu area, typically take three to four years to complete.
